LENTEN SERIES FOR ADULT CLASS IN THE CHOIR ROOM
From Temptation to Rejoicing – a Lenten Study is the title of the study we’ll be doing in the adult Sunday School Class from February 26 to April 8, 2012. Our study guide will be the outstanding Lenten Devotional guide prepared by our own congregation and edited by John LaBoone.
We’ll look at the text for each Sunday during Lent and the devotionals written for those days but we’ll also draw from the wisdom of the other devotionals we have enjoyed each day as we journey together thought the holy season of Lent.
You won’t need to purchase a book or a study guide as copies have been mailed to each home in the parish and they are also available on our website. All you’ll need to do is begin reading on Ash Wednesday and keep up with us through each day of Lent and join us for a lively and inspiring discussion on each Sunday during Lent.
Dr. Bob Brown (and others) will be the discussion leader for our Sunday roundtable on the scriptures and devotionals that have inspired us in our journey together and we’ll travel from the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness (Feb. 26) to a celebration of His glorious resurrection on Easter Sunday (Apr 8).
We meet in the Choir Room at 10:35am each Sunday and EVERYONE IS WELCOME.
(1) SUNDAY SCHOOL SERIES IN THE CHOIR ROOM
Some folks feel the rain . . . Others just get wet. What does that mean? It means that some folks are vividly aware of what’s going on around them, they are tuned it, sensitive, receptive, responsive. They lead with their hearts, they feel the joy, and they triumph over the pain. But, sadly, many people today don’t celebrate, they just cope. They don’t enjoy, they just endure. They don’t embrace life, they just idle through it.
Some folks feel the rain . . . Others just get wet. Is another way of saying that some people smell the roses, while others just complain about the thorns. We’ll explores the reason some people are able to see our time on earth as a gracious gift from God rather than as an agonizing, endurance test, and simply put, why some people have the ability to celebrate life with an abundance of gratitude.
Join us in the Choir Room every Sunday at 10:35am. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
